A great read is just the beginning...
Instructor and student evaluations from coast to coast attest to the Dans' captivating writing. These award-winning bestselling authors know how to enthrall students with the subject they love best--psychology. But in the new edition of Introducing Psychology, they go even further to ensure that students won't commit one of the seven sins of memory--forgetting what they just read. Special Cue Questions and Critical Thinking questions give students the opportunity to process psychological concepts and aid their understanding and memory. And if you've ever heard someone parrot a widespread misconception, you'll welcome the new Changing Minds questions, short scenarios which ask students to confront common misunderstandings of psychological phenomena. Now the book that students love to read is as unforgettable as ever!

DSM 5 Updates
Available for Fall 2014 classes, this update version features new content from the Dans in response to the release of the DSM-5. This new content is integrated into the text without changing pagination or the structure of the chapters. A special DSM 5 Supplement by the Matthew Nock, new coauthor with the Dans of Psychology, Third Edition, is available for Fall 2013 and Spring and Summer 2014 courses.

We laminated front and back cover, used hole-punch reinforcements and placed it in a 3 ring binder. Worked great! The cost was way less than the hardcover even with the upgrades and as loose leaf it allowed me to carry only the chapters I needed for the day or week so i didn;t have the weight of the whole book with me when it wasn't necessary. Also made studying easier because i could spread out pages infront of me and make connections or find quotes from different chapters faster.

Introducing Psychology Loose Leaf Daniel L Schacter Daniel T Gilbert Daniel M Wegner Books Reviews

Great way to get your books for school!
loovve the mini quizzes throughout the chapter and the key terms on each page. Much better than looking through the index. Also this way I can review the section if I miss a question on the mini quiz!!
Ordered this book several weeks ago for my psychology class. It was written in a lighthearted tone and has more than enough information on the subject matter it covers. HOWEVER... I know it's the paperback but this book is almost too large to be printed on anything less than hardcover. If you aren't willing to deal with a book that's comically easy to deform, do yourself a favor and try to find a hardcover.
correct book
Great introduction to psychology text! I'm a psychologist and recommend it highly.
The good rating is because the book arrived in good condition, true to specifications.
For the book itself, it's very long winded. The diagrams are okay, but the clarity of the information can be lost in overly extensive examples and less academic language. When the professor gives the exam they expect you to know the jargon for the science... not inaccurate terminology. Nevertheless as a Psych 101 book it's okay.
I love how the "three Dans" incorporated humor into the learning process with this textbook. There's a diagram on what seems like every page, which really helps me since I'm a visual learner, and the little interesting facts thrown in keep you intrigued; I find myself actually wanting to read the chapter instead of looking at it as a chore. If you need this book for a Psych class but are undecided on whether to spend the money or not, buy it! You'll definitely get your money's worth if you take the course seriously and read the book.
